Renown require 4 x Rail Welding Assistants. Full Skills training is available. To apply, you must hold a current Rail Industry Personal Track Safety Certificate – PTS AC – DCCR; hold Track Induction qualification; hold the Industry Common Induction Card; and have a minimum 12 months of track work experience on the rail infrastructure.

Assistant Operations Administratorapply now

Renown are looking to hire an Assistant Operations Administrator, to support the Junior Operations Administrator and team at our busy Tonypandy depot.

This role will suit a junior who is looking to learn the trade, and build their own skill set and experience.The ideal candidate will need to be organised,have good communication skills (both verbal and written), be a team player, and have good time keeping. Experience of using all Microsoft packages is essential.

Due to the nature of the job, the right candidate must be local to area or at an easily commutable distance (Ely Industrial Estate, Williamstown, Tonypandy, CF40 1RA).

Previous experience within the Rail industry is desirable but not essential.

Main Job Objectives

General Administration

  • Ensuring all stock control databases are regularly updated
  • Review weekly COOM orders – ensuring all rates/dates are correct – raising queries where necessary
  • Update the Racecard system on a daily basis, adding all orders and ensuring this is complete for payroll
  • Chase any outstanding orders/outstanding timesheets
  • Book hotels for lodge
  • To cover over office administrative roles and tasks as required.
  • Assist the other depot office staff and undertake any other administrative duties that may be required.

General Stock Control

Assisting the Operations Administrator with the following:

  • Processing and Managing Purchase Orders for welding depots and any other departments specified.
  • Reconciling Delivery notes with Purchase Orders - actioning any identified discrepancies.
  • Recording serial numbers where applicable e.g. consumables.
  • Recording and confirming stock levels and records in accordance with stores procedures e.g. – LIFO.
  • Recording and reconciling / monitoring stock levels for –
  • Plant Hired Equipment (coordinating with depot stores staff)
  • Welding consumables ( coordinating with depot stores staff)
  • Fuel and mileage usage ( using FORS approved spreadsheet)
  • PPE Usage and stock levels. (3 monthly checks required)
  • Any other defined products required.
  • Ensuring that all Purchase Orders are placed via Approved Suppliers.
  • Undertake Regular stock take / reconciliation of stock
  • Arranging repairs / returns with manufacturers and suppliers as required, querying where necessary.
  • Assisting the SQE Manager with any raised complaints with suppliers
  • Logging and monitoring gas kits for stores.
  • Negotiate and meet with suppliers
  • Ensure all company vans are fully serviced and up to date with MOT’s, hiring and off hiring.
